What was life like before bariatric surgery?
I was unable to move freely. I had a bad back knee and joint pain that kept me from exercising the way I should. I also had some serious heart problems. Before my surgery, I had double bypass surgery because of blocked arteries.
If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?
I had been considering surgery for years. I kept putting it off partly because of fear and the rest because of money. I decided I had to take the plunge when I was told about my heart issues that were only getting worse because of the weight.
What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
The staff and doctors at PWLC were the best. They put me at ease over my fears of the surgery and have been encouraging me through the whole process. It was very easy to accomplish, and with the continued encouragement, I’ve been able to keep the weight coming off.
What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?
I can move. I can walk through all the stores without getting tired and hurting so bad. Before surgery, it was hard to walk through the grocery store let alone Walmart or sams. I usually had to use a mart cart. Now I can go through any store without any cart or scooter. I can keep up with my wife and grandkids instead of them waiting for me.
