Meet Reid

Reid's weight loss transformation

Hello, my name is Reid Bradley I am 23 years old and I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrostomy on May 3, 2014. Growing up I always struggled with my weight and did not care about my health.

I went to play college football to find out I had a Birth defect in my shoulders and had to choose between playing and having strong shoulders for the rest of my life. I had to make the tough decision to quit the sport I loved. I filled this void with food. With my sedentary lifestyle and a crappy diet I gained almost 100 pounds. I was weighing 390 lbs at the age of 22 when my doc told me that I had weight induced heart problems… I have become a new man. I have taken up cycling and rode the MS150 and did my first century (100 Miles!), I’ve done a sprint triathlon and I am currently training for an Ironman. But the best accomplishment is that my wife and I welcomed a baby girl into this world. I am now able to be the father that my daughter needs. I feel millions times better and I don’t have to shop at xl stores anymore!!!!!! When People ask me about my surgery I tell them that I hate the fact that I had to have it done, but I LOVE the fact that I got it done. It helped save my life!
