Meet Charles

What was life like before bariatric surgery?
At 375 lbs my mobility was extremely limited. Travel and quality time with my family was restricted. Clothes shopping was limited, expensive and embarrassing. With my shirts going from 4X to L and a waist reduction from 54’ to 34’ I can now enjoy shopping in regular stores. I was on 11 daily prescription medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and Afib. After losing 150 lbs I am no longer on any prescription medications. All of my medical issues have
resolved.
If you put off the decision to come in for a long time, why was that? What kept you from booking a consultation?
Like many folks I always thought surgery was cheating or for individuals without willpower. After researching the SWITCH surgery I appreciated my physiological constraints on weight loss and found a knowledgeable, highly skilled and trusted surgeon in Dr. Peterson.
What was it like to work with the team, from the start of your journey to today?
Absolutely outstanding, from pre to post op.
What is your life like now? What’s the #1 thing you love being able to do now?
I can walk without restrictions. I live car free and walk everywhere.
